Had a few requests for a Star Trek Voyager / DS9 uniform tutorial from William, Brad, and Doctor Potter. This is a very easy one to do, requiring only a few materials and minimal sewing. If you don’t like sewing, you can also just use some fabric fuse tape or hot glue instead of sewing the two shirt halves together. I ended up using a scoop-neck shirt, but you’ll probably want to use something with a higher neck if you can find it, since mine ended up showing too much gray at the top. I did the version with the red shirt on the outside, but if you’re doing the gray version, just exchange the gray undershirt for a colored one. The gold and silver adhesive foil for the combadge I found in JoAnn Fabrics. If you don’t have a JoAnn’s or Michael’s near you, you can also pick it up on Amazon:
1 black long-sleeved shirt,
1 red (or other color shirt)
1 gray turtleneck
1 pair of black dress pants
Small scrap of cardboard
Small scraps of silver and gold adhesive foil
Sticky backed velcro
Enough gold paper fasteners to signify your chosen rank
Sewing machine or needle and thread
Tip from Goji01 Gaming:
For showing Lieutenant Commander or a rank between two rank dots, round up (3 for Lieutenant Commander) and on the one furthest right cut a circle of black construction paper and hot glue it to the dot closest to the right.
Hope you enjoy this video. If you have any questions or requests for future tutorials, feel free to leave me a comment below. I post a new cosplay tutorial every Thursday and a new crafting tutorial every other Monday, so check back next week for more DIY goodness.
